SAT Math Tutoring in South Bend

Dimension Math Tutoring provides personalized math tutoring to help students develop deep analytical thinking and disciplined problem-solving skills.  This leads to high performance in SAT.

The program is led by a chemistry professor with over eight years of college teaching experience. She has also worked with a private secondary school as a consultant and mentor, helping students build strong mathematical foundations and disciplined problem-solving skills through small-group math instruction.

Her academic training began at Peking University, the top universiy in China, and continued with graduate studies in the United States. She has received Excellence in Teaching Award in STEM education.

Proven Results

Students have achieved strong improvements in standard testing and gone on to universities including Princeton, Columbia, Notre Dame, and Purdue, as well as competitive professional programs in medicine, dentistry, and veterinary medicine.

Experience and Background

SAT Student Outcomes

Student A: 600 → 770

Started with strong potential but gaps in core algebra and problem-solving habits.  Through consistent error analysis and targeted review, the student improved to 770 while developing stronger analytical thinking and confidence in math.

Student B: 700 → 800

Strong student with a solid foundation. The focus was on high-level analytical thinking and the ability to approach challenging problems with precision, efficiency, and mathematical maturity. Through disciplined training, the student achieved a perfect score of 800.

Student Group

A small group mentored since middle school developed strong mathematical foundations and advanced problem-solving skills through challenging math curriculum. As high school freshmen, two students scored above 700 on SAT Math.

Teaching Focus

This program emphasizes deep mathematical understanding and disciplined problem solving rather than memorization of procedures. Students learn to think mathematically through challenging problems, strategic thinking, creative problem solving, and understanding how concepts connect. Algebra is taught as a powerful tool for solving complex problems in mathematics and STEM fields.

Instruction is adaptive to each student’s background and needs. Central to the process is careful error analysis—identifying patterns of mistakes, targeting weaknesses, and drawing from highly tailored resources to support long-term growth in mathematical ability.

Selected Materials

Materials are thoughtfully selected and adapted to each student’s level and goals. These include strong foundational curricula, competition-style problem solving (such as Art of Problem Solving), and targeted SAT practice resources.

Rather than relying on single type of source, resources are carefully integrated to build deep understanding, strong analytical habits, and effective problem-solving skills.
